Refunds before fingerprinting are subject to a $25.00 reprocessing fee. Refunds are not granted after fingerprinting occurs.
NOTE: Per FBI requirements, applications submitted from outside the U.S. cannot be accepted or processed. Results can only be picked up within the United States or its territories. Please contact the FBI if you need to apply internationally.
An eDO is a Departmental Order 556-73 process that allows the applicant to collect their results electronically (online). The Departmental Order 566-73 allows an individual to request their criminal history record (“rap sheet”) — or prove that a criminal record history does not exist. A departmental order may also facilitate the expungement process.
The Criminal History Report (CHRI), is one component of an FBI Identity History Summary (IdHS) check. The report contains information submitted to the FBI related to arrests, and in some cases, may also contain other information such as federal employment, naturalization or military service.
A current government-issued ID such as a state driver’s license or ID card, or a U.S. Passport are commonly used as a primary ID. Examples of acceptable secondary IDs are a government issued birth or marriage certificate, a Social Security card, a current school ID with photograph, a Certificate of Citizenship (N-560) or a Certificate of Naturalization (N-550).
