Starting February 10, 2025 – Accurate Biometrics is a provider of fingerprinting services for the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS)
The State of Illinois requires the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) to conduct fingerprint-based background checks on individuals who work with or live in licensed and unlicensed child care facilities, those that may work alone with children in care, and anyone the age of 18 or older living in a home with children.
Accurate Biometrics is a fingerprint provider for all DCFS fingerprinting in Illinois. The fee associated with the fingerprinting is paid for by DCFS. There is NO cost to you to be be fingerprinted for this purpose. We do not take appointments; therefore we offer a convenient walk-in fingerprint service throughout Illinois.

How to get fingerprinted:
Obtain a valid DCFS Fingerprint Search Result letter from your employer or licensing representative. Applicants needing to be fingerprinted for the DCFS 717-H purpose DO NOT need a Search Result letter.
Collect the DCFS Authorization Form for fingerprinting from your employer or licensing representative.
Complete all of the information on the form, then sign and date the form. Please note multiple signatures may be required.
Forms differ based on the purpose of fingerprinting (adoption/ foster care, day care employees, licensed relative, non-licensed provider, etc.) Examples of this form include the 718-A, 718-B-AI, 718-B-DC, 718-C, 718-D, 718-E, 718-LE and 717-H.
Day Care Home providers, members of the household, and Day Care Center employees should return CFS 718-B-AI’s and CFS 718-B-DC’s to their employer for review.
Please confirm that section 4 is completed by your agency. This will include the DCFS provider ID number.

What to Bring:
Completed Search Result letter (NOT NEEDED for the 717-H Applicants or Youth in Care)
The ISP will electronically send the results directly to DCFS.
Each applicant will be issued a receipt that they will need to retain for their records.

DCFS Out-of-State Fingerprint Card Process
This is only for out-of-state DCFS applicants. If you are physically in Illinois, please visit one of our locations.

1) At the DCFS Portal page, click on the fingerprint search image.
2) Enter username and password. If you do not have an account, you can create one.
3) Search for your result letter.
a) Enter First Name. Your first name must match your ID or drivers license.
b) Enter Last Name. Your last name must match your ID or drivers license.
c) Enter Date Of Birth.
d) Enter SSN (last four digits).
e) Select “Search”
4) Download the search result letter.
5) You must print this letter or show this letter on your phone to the fingerprint technician as proof that you are authorized to be fingerprinted by DCFS. Not required for 717-H applicants or Youth In Care.
