The National Child Protection Act (NCPA) allows Churches and Faith-Based Organization staff and volunteers for special programs for children, the disabled, and the elderly, access to state and FBI criminal history records information. This voluntary check is recommended for all those working with vulnerable populations.
Accurate Biometrics provides access to State and FBI fingerprint-based background checks, which are the most comprehensive criminal history records database checks for your faith-based program.
Churches and Faith-Based Organizations will need to contact the Illinois State Police to request an Originating Requester Identification (ORI) Number, if the organization does not already have one. An ORI number is required before applicants can be fingerprinted for a background check.
Please contact the Account Management Team at 773-685-5832 to learn how to obtain an ORI and set up an account. Once an account is established, Accurate Biometrics will provide a customized fingerprinting form for the organization that the applicants will need to bring for fingerprinting.
