Are You Ready For Fingerprinting?

  1. Obtain an ORI number from the Florida Business & Professional Regulation or visit: http://www.myfloridalicense.com/dbpr/servop/testing/documents/finger_faq.pdf for listing of ORI numbers.

  2. Use your Live Scan Request Form as a reference to register online for fingerprinting.

  3. Bring your registration confirmation email (printed or on your phone) along with your current (not expired) driver’s license, government issued identification card, or passport to the fingerprinting Kiosk location of your choosing. (You will choose your location after clicking the GET FINGERPRINTING button below.) Please call us at (866) 361-9944 if you have any questions.

  4. The fingerprints that are captured by the technician at the fingerprinting Kiosk are sent to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE). Once the results are received from FDLE, the average processing time for clearance is approximately 3-5 business days.

  5. You will receive an email providing you with a Transaction Control Number (TCN) that verifies your live scan submission has been processed. The TCN number can be given to the company that is requesting the background check as it will help them track results. IMPORTANT: Please save your TCN number for reference.

If you have everything you need for your fingerprinting visit, click the button below. If you are not sure, please expand the drop down (+) list above and read the checklist.

Real Estate Licensing – Fingerprints Required

As a soon-to-be real estate agent, you have several important details to take care of before getting licensed. The biggest, of course, is passing your pre-licensing course from a Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC) approved real estate school.

During the time that you are completing the educational portion, you will need to apply for your real estate license with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR).

As part of the application process, the FREC requires that you complete a fingerprint-based background check. Only when you have your background check completed, and your application finished, will you be able to sit for your final exam.

Certified Residential Real Estate Appraisal licensing in Florida is regulated by the Florida Real Estate Appraisal Board (FREAB) and includes classroom hours and experience registered under a certified appraiser. The Florida state requirements to become a certified residential real estate appraiser can be found on the DBPR website here:

How long will it take to receive my results?

Level 2 background checks can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks to be approved. Make sure that all information on the form is correct so that there are no mistakes that would stall the approval process!
