Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ)

FDLE Approved Live Scan Vendor

The Florida Department of Juvenile Justice requires all state and contract providers, directors, owners, applicants, employees, volunteers, mentors and interns to receive a Level 2 background check before they can be hired or volunteer pursuant to chapter 435, 984, 985, and 943, of the Florida Statutes. The Florida DJJ uses a Clearinghouse method that allows the results of the criminal history checks to be shared with multiple State agencies. Once you have your background checked, you can move between agencies (especially those that volunteer for multiple organizations) and not have to get a new fingerprint background check each time.

Accurate Biometrics provides electronic fingerprinting services in our Tampa, Florida office. We submit your fingerprints electronically to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for a Nationwide criminal history check also called a Level 2 Background Check.

APPLICANT FINGERPRINT REQUIREMENTS

  1. The company that is requesting your Level 2 background check has to go on the Agency for Health Care Administration Clearinghouse web Portal and generate a Level 2 background check request.

After they have registered you into the Clearinghouse web portal they must provide you with a Live Scan Request Form that the system automatically generates with an ORI number and a Screening ID number.

  2. Bring in your Live Scan Request Form along with your current (not expired) driver’s license, government issued identification card, or passport to Accurate Biometrics at 5005 W. Laurel Street, Ste. 111, Tampa. Please call us at (813) 586-3400 if you have any questions.

  3. The fingerprints and photo are captured by Accurate Biometrics then sent to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE). FDLE then sends the fingerprints to the FBI for their nationwide processing. The results are then disseminated back to AHCA Clearinghouse web portal.
Once the results are received from FDLE, the average processing time for clearance is approximately 3-5 business days.

  4. Accurate Biometrics will provide you with a Transaction Control Number (TCN) report that verifies your live scan submission has been processed. The TCN number can be given to the company that is requesting the background check as it will help them track results.
