Are You Ready For Fingerprinting?

  1. The company that is requesting your Level 2 background check has to go on the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA/AHCA Medicaid) Clearinghouse web Portal and generate a Level 2 background check request.

    After they have registered you into the AHCA/AHCA Medicaid Clearinghouse portal they must provide you with a Live Scan Request Form that the system automatically generates with an ORI number and a Screening ID number.

  2. Use your Live Scan Request Form as a reference to register online for fingerprinting.

  3. Bring your registration confirmation email (printed or on your phone) along with your current (not expired) driver’s license, government issued identification card, or passport to the fingerprinting Kiosk location of your choosing. (You will choose your location after clicking the GET FINGERPRINTING button below.) Please call us at (866) 361-9944 if you have any questions.

  4. The fingerprints and photo that are captured by the technician at the fingerprinting Kiosk are sent to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE). The FDLE then sends the fingerprints to the FBI for processing. The results are then disseminated back to AHCA/AHCA Medicaid Clearinghouse. Once the results are received from FDLE, the average processing time for clearance is approximately 3-5 business days.

  5. You will receive an email providing you with a Transaction Control Number (TCN) that verifies your live scan submission has been processed. The TCN number can be given to the company that is requesting the background check as it will help them track results. IMPORTANT: Please save your TCN number for reference.

In Florida, the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) is responsible for Level 2 fingerprint-based background checks AHCA Medicaid. AHCA Medicaid is the medical assistance program that provides access to health care for low-income families and individuals. AHCA Medicaid also assists the elderly and people with disabilities with the cost of nursing facility care and other medical and long-term care expenses.

Any Medicaid Provider that needs a Level 2 fingerprint-based background screening performed for their initial Medicaid Provider Enrollment Application must first submit their application and receive their Application Tracking Number (ATN).
